Ruven Ruppik, born 1986, won the Federal Competition "Jugend musiziert" in the category "Classic Percussion Solo". This is followed by solo tours in Germany, Switzerland, Japan, France and many more. He studied classical percussion and world percussion at the "World Music Department of Codarts" in Rotterdam. In addition, he completed a Master's Degree in North Indian Classical Music (Tabla) with "Cum Laude". He had the honor to work with Karlheinz Stockhausen, Kurt Masur, Peter Eötvös and many other great musicians, composers and conductors of the classical music scene.
He has been and is a member of various contemporary music projects and world music ensembles in ao. Europe, China and Oman. He worked with the following artists: Jose Manuel Leon, Alicia Carrasco, Kudsi Ergüner, Rima Khcheich, Paco Peña, Aziza Brahim, Jorge Pardo, Tino van der Sman, Irene Alvarez, Karen Lugo, Carmen Fernandez, Alexander Gavilan, Codarts & the Royal Conservatory Big Band (Koninkrijksconcert für die holländische Königin 2012), Rudresh Mahanthappa (North Sea Jazz Festival 2012), Anna Elis de Jong Group (North Sea Round Town 2013), Lilian Viera, Izaline Calister and many more.
In addition to his activities as a percussionist and musician, Ruven also has many workshops all over the world. He fells at home in various music styles such as flamenco, mediterranean music, Ottoman music and Latin / Brazilian music. Besides that he follows his passion for Indian music.
