The percussionist, drummer, cajon player and vocalist Thomas Brucke was born in the region of Münster in Germany. When he was 4 years old, he started playing the drums and enjoyed several years of being taught by first-class drummers and percussionists. Early on in his life he decided to turn his passion into his job. Since 1992 he has worked as a professional musican, workshop lecturer and instrumental teacher. He has gained over 30 years experience in stage performance, studio time and teaching.
In the year of 2000 he discovered the Cajon which has become a staple in his instruments. Since then, he has become obsessed with finding new ways to play this magical box. In his acoustic art rock band called Breadless
, he combines his strengths as drummer, cajonist and vocalist through the usage of his special, self constructed cajon setup. The base of his cajon setup is a Sela CaSela Pro.
Thomas is an open minded and friendly man which makes him very popular as a workshop lecturer. Together with his college Birgit Menke, who is a kinesiologist, they developed a concept named CajoKine
. Its a combination of playing the Cajon and kinesiologie, the teaching oft the movement on all levels (mental, physical and emotional.) Along with his many talents Thomas is also the drummer of the german band Lichtgestalt
where he utilizes his abilities of symmetric drumming.
